Installation & Troubleshooting

To ensure a secure and seamless installation of the ERPSecVerse SAP Security Add-in, please follow the steps below. Because our software is highly specialized and runs locally on your machine, Windows security may require a one-time manual “Unblock” to allow the installer to execute.

1. How to Unblock the Installer

When you download a .zip or .msi file from the internet, Windows 11 often flags it as “coming from another computer.” Follow these steps before running the setup:

1. Locate the File: Open your Downloads folder and find ERPSecVerse_Setup.zip.
2. Unblock the Zip: * Right-click the file and select Properties.
   • On the General tab, look for the Security section at the bottom.
   • Check the box labeled Unblock.
   • Click Apply and then OK.
3. Extract & Run: Right-click the zip, select Extract All, and then run setup.exe from the new folder.

Note: If you see a “Windows protected your PC” (SmartScreen) popup, click More Info and then select Run anyway.

2. Common Installation Issues

Error: “The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation”

This is a common Windows Installer (MSI) error.

• Solution: Right-click the setup.exe file and select Run as Administrator. If you are on a corporate-managed machine and do not have admin rights, please contact your IT department to whitelist the installer.

The “ERPSecVerse” Tab is Missing in Excel

If the installation finished but you don’t see the ribbon:

1. Open Excel and go to File > Options > Add-ins.
2. At the bottom, set the “Manage” dropdown to COM Add-ins and click Go.
3. Ensure ERPSecVerse is checked.
4. If it is listed under “Disabled Items”: Change the Manage dropdown to Disabled Items, select ERPSecVerse, and click Enable.

Architecture Mismatch (x86 vs x64)

• Error: “Not compatible with the project’s target platform.”
• Solution: Ensure you have downloaded the correct version for your Office installation. Most modern SAP GUI environments require the 64-bit (x64) version. You can check your Excel version under File > Account > About Excel.
